Just because it’s winter and a little chilly outside doesn’t mean you have to spend the July School Holidays indoors.

Victor Harbor and surrounding towns have many different indoor and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

The horse-drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island is operational and is always a favourite.

Go whale watching along the coast or visit the SA Whale Centre in Victor Harbor. The SA Whale Centre offers a school holiday program every holiday, and it’s worth checking out. Being whale season at the moment, the focus is very much on whales.

On Sunday 14 July take the kids along to McDonald’s in Victor Harbor for Cars’ n’ Coffee. Starts at 8am and runs through to 10.30am. There will be plenty of classic cars and hot rods to check out, and you can have a chat with their owners as well.

For something a little more adventurous, grab your jacket, beanie, umbrella and gumboots and visit our top 5 things to do in and around Victor Harbor area in the July school holidays.

GT Fisher Nature Playground – Victor Harbor

The redeveloped GT Fisher Nature Playground was reopened in time for the July school holidays.  The redevelopment tried to capture as much history about the region as possible and features the use of granite, an island with a causeway, a fisherman shack and railway inspired elements. This is a fantastic play space designed for all ages and abilities. Read a review of this Playground on Kids In Adelaide.

There are markets galore for you to visit while you’re staying at our Rocks Beach House these July school holidays.  Pick up the freshest fruit, vegetables and other produce at the Victor Harbor Farmers Market held every Saturday from 8am until 12.30pm at Grosvenor Gardens.  On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, you can visit the Beachside Markets on the Victor Harbor esplanade.
