When you’re staying at Rocks Beach House, one of the best things about the location is having great food just down the road. The Chiton Restaurant is one of our favourite spots to recommend to guests, and it’s easy to see why.
Tucked upstairs in the Chiton Rocks Surf Life Saving Club on Hindmarsh Esplanade, The Chiton Restaurant serves up beautifully cooked meals with ocean views that are hard to beat. From the dining area you can look out over Knights Beach on one side and across to Granite Island on the other — it really is a stunning spot, especially at sunset.

On some Friday nights they feature an acuostic guitarist singing some classic tunes, which makes it even more special.
Breakfasts are always great here with all of your classics including some very nice eggs in many varieties.
The menu is relaxed and well-priced, with mains sitting around the $20–$40 range. The fish and chips are a favourite (the flathead is always fresh), and their seafood platters are worth a look if you’re celebrating something special. They’ve also got a kids menu with classics like fish and chips or chicken schnitzel for $12 each, so it’s a great option for families.
The restaurant is only about a 2-minute drive or a pleasant 10-minute walk from Rocks Beach House along the esplanade — perfect for a casual dinner without having to venture too far.
One thing that is incredible to see is the sun setting over Victor Harbor from the Chiton Restaurant. Absolutely incedible views.
