If there’s one thing our guests love after a big day at the beach, it’s a good pizza. And when it comes to pizza on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Crisp in Port Elliot is hard to go past.
Located in the heart of Port Elliot — just a short drive from Rocks Beach House — Crisp has quickly become a local favourite. They serve up wood-fired style pizzas with creative toppings, along with small plates, salads, and desserts. The Shroom Pizza is a standout if you’re after something a bit different, and the menu changes enough to keep things interesting.
When we were there we enjoyed the cocktails and their beautiful Creme Brulee which I’m always a sucker for.
What we love about Crisp is that it works whether you want to sit in for a proper dinner or grab takeaway and bring it back to the beach house. They’ve got a lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff are friendly and attentive — which always makes a difference.
Port Elliot itself is worth the visit too. While you’re there, take a stroll along the main street, pop into some of the local shops, or walk down to Horseshoe Bay for a look. It’s a beautiful little town that pairs perfectly with a pizza dinner.
